Question :
Im obsessed with losing this guy friend of mine, i think about it a lot and think of ways to make him come back, or scenarios in which he would see with another guy... Its horrible, it makes me feel trapped and depressed. My mum is worried and my friends are too. This guy had such a hold on me and he still does without even any communication. I was watching on oprah that theres something called love addict and its where you obsess, and u try to manipulate someone to come back to you. I just want to stop this awful feeling, and move on with life. But everywhere i turn there is something that reminds me of him, and it doesnt help that i have his family on my fb, but i cant be rude and just delete them. I think this problem stems from the absence of my father, i crave attention sometimes from guys, but not to the sexual extent, just the emotional side :(

Well, to be honest with you! Having been on the other side of the equation before (i.e. the really good friend who cares about the girl deeply and is always there for her), it gets to a point where you just think it s best to cut your losses and pull away. Because at the end of the day you re nothing but an emotional crutch for that person, and trust me, one of the hardest things in the world for a guy is to be stuck in the "friends-zone" and watch that person, whom you care deeply for, go out with every idiot out there and then crying on your shoulder when things turn sour.
As a guy, it gets to a point where you just have to cut your losses and let that person be, because with time, that constant scenario is only going to suck the life force out of you and you will eventually feel bitter about that girl.
So my advice, give the guy his space, and after a while if he decides that he still wants to be friends with you, I m sure that he will get in touch. You have to be aware of the fact that s not only your feelings on the line here and you have to be considerate towards that other person.

Question :
My "friend" is a love addict...what do i do?
my close friend is dealing with a bad case of love addiction with an ex of his...and i also believe that he is co-dependent...he has started counseling and is on medication for depression...so fully acknowledged the addiction.....and he s asked me to supportive of him.......but i m having a hard time staying positive when the addiction takes over(he starts treating me poorly) and we end up fighting, not talking for awhile......but...here s the twist.....he and i were also involved recently (before i knew about the addiction).....and he still tells me that he loves me...although i ve realized after a lot of research these feelings he has for me may be part of his love addiction as well.....i struggle with whether i should try to stay close to him..talking to him on a regular basis....and helping him through this tough time...like he wants....or if because of his feelings for me...im just enabling his addiction further...so is the best choice to avoid him, ignore him, and practice tough love....and let him go at it alone?Answer :
You re right, your friend is having it tough, he needs you there, to know he has FAMILY LOVE but make sure he understands that what it is then help him.If not consider, like you already have, letting him go through it without you, though make sure his family is there to help him, then go back to him.
Hope I helped :)
P.S. your life isn t his never let him stop your life
