Medications For Schizophrenia Anxiety Help Tips |
by Verloren Jaren
Schizophrenia has become known from being a crucial mental illness that eluded the knowledge of numerous physicians to a disease which became a primary focus of neuroscience research. It often develops during the brink of adulthood, the illness was once believed as a form of mental illness that links to manifestation of evil. However, the innovation of the experts along with ground breaking developments in science and newer schizophrenia medications make people understand the illness in an easier way.
Some schizophrenic symptoms are the damage of cognitive abilities, identity disorder, and extreme mood changes. Most patients claim to experience delusions which involve hearing voices and they respond to them as they would hear them in reality. In addition, paranoia and severe depression, as well as other classic schizophrenic symptoms, are very often to occur for the alarming number of schizophrenic suicides. Therefore, it is very necessary to recognize the symptoms as soon as possible.
Scientists are still doing their extensive researches to develop methods of lab diagnosis for this mental disorder. On the other hand, when it comes to non-diagnostic methods, most people suffering from schizophrenia have abnormalities in brain structure and reduced blood flow to the frontal lobe. The psychological diagnosis of schizophrenia shows sufferers experience attention disorder, lack of concentration, trouble in adapting responses, and unusual eye movements.
The usual treatment for schizophrenia is a combination of counseling and antipsychotic drugs. Over the last century, a revolution in the treatment of schizophrenia has emerged. Drugs for this mental disorder are a lifelong commitment; at best, they control the sudden occurrence of psychosis. Antipsychotic drugs have been used since 1950s to prevent psychosis and to fight relapses. Some of these early known drugs for the treatment for schizophrenia were fluphenazine, haloperidol, and chlorpromazine. These were recognized as notorious because of the degenerative side effects they gave to the patients. Since the 1990s, numerous newer schizophrenia drugs have been developed and released. Fortunately, these medicines do not give many side effects similar to the older generation of schizophrenia drugs. But these second generation of antipsychotic medications are only a little better than the old since negative symptoms such as indifference, social withdrawal, emotional insensitivity, and difficulties with attention and memory loss have remained unsolved by pharmacological means.
Doctors and medical specialists for schizophrenia have come to a general agreement concerning the medical treatment of the illness, although the consensus is not perfect and most of their advices are guidelines rather than commands.
For schizophrenic patients who undergo psychotic episodes, the first option is usually take one of the top five drugs which were all introduced since 1990 and recognized as second-generation drugs. These are risperidone (Risperdal), olanzapine (Zyprexa), quetiapine (Seroquel), ziprasidone (Geodon), or aripiprazole (Abilify) which are believed to be equally effective and the choice should depend on the side effects that they give. Another drug is used by some patients which is called Clozapine (Clozaril). This drug is considered if the patient has not responded to the other antipsychotic drugs.

Commonly question about What Are the Best Drug Treatments for Schizophrenia?
What approach to my essay is best?
I have an assignment to do for my clinical psychology module. It is only a 2000 word essy but there is a lot to cover. I have two essay plans in mind but do not know which one to go for?The essay title is "Discuss the view that for the treatment of most mental disorders, psychological approaches are more effective than the use of medication".
Essay plan 1
Intro
Depression - what is depression, discussion of drug treatments, discussion of CBT, evaluation comparing CBT with drug treatments.
Schizophrenia - what is schizophrenia, discussion of drug treatments, discussion of a psychological intervention (haven t decided which one yet), evaluation comparing psychogical treatment with drug treatment.
Personality disorders - what are personality disorders, discussion of drug treatments, discussion of objective relations therapies
Conclusion
Although I like this plan I feel there will be too much to cover with a 2000 word limit.
TBC...
i think plan#1 is better...it deals with the more common mental disorders...when writing ur essay it s best not to dwell too much on details...it will be helpful to limit technical terms...always ask yourself: "will someone not majoring in clinical psychology understand what i ve written?". and stick to the title s goal, that is, to prove or disprove that psychological approaches are more effective than medication when treating people with mental disorders. i hope i helped u in one way or another :-)
Given a prescription that the side effects turned very painful, yet the doctor told me to stay on the drug...?
I have been in treatment for what was termed bi-polar and schizophrenia, though the treatments and Doctor appointments have come late over two plus years later, and this includes a hand-wrist type of carpal tunnel problem - can t be. I started medical check ups over two 1/2 years ago.The original problems and relative to the clinic and VR Services, was homelessness and no work and nothing has paid off.
Also I think that my original prognosis has changed since I have personally battled certain patterns and behavior, and mostly I thought the tests form the beginning were taken under duress, and highly inaccurate. The providers were oddly steely and mechanical and disagreeable. just get it done
The psychiatrist/psychologist prescribed the drug, andI refused but would try it--against my own judgment and suggestion of what might better or possibly best for my mind and body...I has several days of not relating to my son and my responsibilities and painful headaches, and other unusual reactions...driving and walking seemed to want to make me sway and / or fall to the right. Once as I had to go to my son s school as I was walking the hallway.
I am 65 years old. I thought to suggest because at one time I experienced really good results from another trial prescription.
I honestly feel from my experiences...over two years...that the doctors only want to take a check from the State..they like anyone these days have to make money. I really feel that in lieu of the facts that I have to report or make a way clear to honestly get help...not forced to stay on a drug that is debilitating..and hindering my progress....I stopped taking it two days ago...and cleansed with juices and water.
I have the ultimate liability how do I handleliability

Sometimes doctors can get kickbacks from drug companies so I ve heard, and if it is a relatively new medication the doctor could be insisting on you using that medication because of a drug representative pushing for them to write prescriptions for it. I ve worked in a pharmacy for 6 years and I ve seen first hand how pushy a drug rep can be so that they can get there new medications filled. Or you say that you re 65 years old therefore you are eligible for medicare part d, and they type of medication you re using might be the only medication that your insurance will pay for. What I would do is try calling your insurance and tell them the name of your medication, and ask them if there is another medication in the same class that is covered. If so you might want to get a second opinion from another doctor.

MyselfBest Health care systems in the world ? Obama Care ? Capitalized or socialized systems ?
With the movie sicko, one must ponder the type of health care systems available throughout the world. Each system has its strengths and weaknesses.
The World Health Organization evaluated health care system in the world and came out with the following.
Canada s Health care system is better than that of the USA. (but wait) It is better because it is paid for by the government, through taxation. Now before you assume that Canada has a socialized health care system, think again. The government pays for most all services, ie the system is publically funded, HOWEVER the doctors, clinics etc are self employed enterprises.
The American Health Care system is for the most part a truly for profit capitlized system. It ranks as one of the most expensive systems in the world and ranks, 36th. Canada s system ranks 30th.
It is truly a joke to see Canadian politicians compare the Canadian publically funded private system in Canada to that of the USA, a truly privatized system. The Canadian system is bettter, but it ranks 30th, and seldom is mentioned the other systems in the world that are the best. France and Italy.
The devil lies in the details, especially the missing ones.
Here is the key. What a country saves in health care costs,IT CAN SPEND IN OTHER AREAS, SUCH AS MICROSOFT COMPUTERS, GMC OR FORD PRODUCTS.
This is important to understand.
Now the flaw with the American and Canadian systems; THEY REWARD DISEASE, REPEAT VISITS, REFERRALS, TESTING, TREATING SYMPTOMS.
In fact in the USA and Canada, the great pharmaceutical drug industry is creating diseases based on bundled symptoms. (reference the book, THE DISEASE CONSPIRACY)
Here is the evidence, Have you heard that a lack of iron can cause depression. Probably not. The disease treatment industry calls this a chemical imbalance, ignores the lack of iron, and then tries to market expensive drugs, but seldom if ever mentions a simple lack of iron, or B 12, or protein,
Have you heard of pharmaceutical drugs that cause mentall illness? Probably not. Take a look at PPA, or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylpropa This common ingredient has caused psychosis in some patients, resulting in labels being applied.
We have reviewed 37 cases (published in North America and Europe since 1960) that received diagnoses of acute mania, paranoid schizophrenia, and organic psychosis and that were attributed to PPA product ingestion. Of the 27 North American case reports, more reactions followed the ingestion of combination products than preparations containing PPA alone; more occurred after ingestion of over-the-counter products than those obtained by prescription or on-the-street; and more of the cases followed ingestion of recommended doses than overdoses.
Failure to recognize PPA as an etiological agent in the onset of symptoms usually led to a diagnosis of schizophrenia or mania, lengthy hospitalization, and treatment with substantial doses of neuroleptics or lithium."
So you can see that there is a conflict of interest, sometimes even a conspiracy to withhold the truth of the matters.
Anyway focusing on the positive. In Italy and France doctors are paid an annual fee per patient. Compare this to the system in Canada where doctors are paid a measely fee per visit. In Canada there is a motivation to treat symptoms, keep you on the medicalmerrygoround system.
In Italy and France where doctors are paid an annual fee per patient, there is no financial incentive to keep you visiting the doctor or keep you sick. If you are healthy, the doctor can spend time on the golf course and still be making an income. In Canada and the USA if you are healthy, your doctor is not making any income.
A true public system, or variation thereof promotes and rewards prevention and avoids many of the pitfalls of the American and Canadian health systems, where the disease industries become marketers and parasites feeding off of disease.
Most recently, some critical assessment has been made of the pink ribbon campaign that tends to substantiate a motivation towards keeeping the disease around, and not finding the simple cause and cure.

The different health care systems in the world and their payment systems have different winners and losers. The Canadian and American systems rank 30th and 36th in the world, and seem to promote the treatment of symptoms, and pharmaceutical drugs and expensive testing, while the systems in Italy and France, because they pay their doctors an annual per patient fee, seem to reward prevention, good health and efficient and effective treatments.
Remeber the devil lies in the details, especially the missing ones.
(based on the book, THE JESUS CHRIST CODE;THE LIGHT; The Rainbow of Truths:)
Holy Moly, that was a long read.
The best of medicine- I believe remains in the private system. Why? because the reward system for innovation and invention has not been taken out of it.
Man flourishes and thrives in its creative environment. However, this same environment also grows the most evil and heinous greed from the providers of health care
This greed tries to shoot down and eliminate all competition in alternative medicine and non traditional pharmaceutical based medicine.
Health care you see may not truly be dependent on the most expensive treatment but the propaganda for the most profitable will shoot down all other avenues to cure diseases to make you think so.
The true public care system in France and italy remains viable with a healthy national economy and GDP and I have not mentioned the taxation yet. Why did you not mention Sweden?
As for Canada s health care, like you said, it is taxation based. and I suspect this will be the model Obamacare is seeking to emulate.
The tax burden is high for the people (55% taxes) and for a country still struggling with a recession is not terribly attractive. If he runs on this platform for reelection, it is a terribly weak one.
